I just watched the first episode. Looks like a fun series. I'm sure I will enjoy it. As usual the cliff hanger ending gets me every time. lol
Hill House appears to be a lot different... not fun at all, lol... for me anyway. I wouldn't let my wife watch it because she cannot handle ghosts. And this series would have seriously messed her up. But she also gets frightened very easily and its ghost stuff that does it. Zombies and monsters don't scare her at all... We watched A Quiet Place (95 tomato meter) and it didn't faze her one bit.
As for me, its always the setting that spooks me. Not the ghosts or monsters or whatever. I thought they did a nice job with setting the scenes and just giving parts of the show a really unsettling feel. Once I see the ghost it is no longer scary. Shadows, dark silhouette and spooky innuendo are the elements that scare me a bit... just a bit, lol Then I start hearing noises and imagining movement of the drapes, etc. lol
