Been to many a show with festival seating - no chairs on the floor.. the Queen/Thin Lizzy show I mentioned in a post in this same thread, was festival seating.. The 3 of us were first in line at the door to go into Moody Coliseum, as we went straight there after the in-store appearance with Thin Lizzy..

I'll never forget seeing the guy walking toward our glass door to open it - and the huge mob behind us start to push us forward because everyone was trying to get in.. Well, in our case, the doors opened outward.. while the mob was pushing us into the doors.. So, I still have a small scar in the middle of my chest from the door.. But, it was a great show.. and I shot some great pics.. Now, that brings up an entirely different story, but is totally related.. So, if you're bored, don't read on..

This was in the days of 35mm film cameras.. you cranked a lever, which advanced the film for the next shot.. the film was attached on one side to a metal canister and the photographer attached the other side to a gear, which was what spinned to advance the film.. At the end of the roll of film, it would get difficult to advance with the lever, and when you were out of film, it wouldn't advance at all.. So, I had shot the roll of film, and in my excitement, yanked the lever too hard and I could feel the film break from the canister..

Ok, being a seasoned darkroom guy, no problem.. I'll take it into a darkroom and load the film into a canister to develop it and make it into negatives.. Even easier, I'd take it to the local professional camera shop and have them do it and just let them do the prints.. I take it to the shop, explain to the owner what had happened and that he needed to open the camera in a darkroom and load it into a developing canister.. The guy opens the camera RIGHT THERE in the middle of the store.. I yell for him to close the camera and he finally does, but not before destroying the last 4-5 prints on the roll, which of course, were some of the best..

I have wanted to find those negatives and scan them and do some photoshop magic on them and see if I can save them.. they're in a box at the house stored away.. one of these days I'll get to it..

Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
