Especially in regards to space. I read everything about space I could get my hands on.... the upside being:

I know quite a bit about the universe... and man's exploration of space.

The downside:

I cannot recall ever really thinking 'aliens' might be on Mars... or even in our solar system. And that even though I read most of the sci-fi classics.

I have always believed, however, that there is life out there in the universe... somewhere. I don't think we'll ever contact them 'personally', however... the distances are simply too great. Perhaps if we develop the technology necessary to power and sustain life on an interstellar spaceship THEY might one day encounter other life... but earth will be long gone when they do.

I recall the 1970s and the thrill as a kid when Viking landed.
