2 straight years we get to host a WS championship party on our field. Very disheartening.
Everyone is piling on Roberts, but THE biggest reason we lost this year, was we just didn't hit. The offense was A-N-E-M-I-C!! I'm not even going to look up the numbers, but I know they were awful as a team hitting for the entire playoffs. Its actually amazing they made it as far as they did. They may not have even hit .200 as a team for the entire playoffs.
Bellinger was a HUGE disappointment for a second consecutive playoff run....Kike, Barnes, Grandal, Dozier, and to a lesser extent Muncy and Manny just didn't perform.
The Sox pickup a guy like Pearce at the trade deadline, and the Dodgers pickup Madson, Manny, and Dozier, who just didn't come through again. The mid season pickups have been pretty much failures. I don't necessarily blame that on the FO...sometimes the players have to do it on the field and in most cases they just haven't done it.
I gotta say that I'm glad that I'm not going to see Manny in a Dodger uniform again. His overall performance (offensively) definitely didn't match the hype, and his act is a complete and total disaster. I'm looking forward to seeing Seager back at SS next year.
