Hearing that years ago they were very unreliable... then hearing that they had turned it around and were now very dependable.... I can state that:
They are unreliable.
And with that said I don't regret buying it at all.... it is BY FAR the best handling vehicle I have ever owned... 2nd place is very distant.
It is a joy to drive... which, unfortunately, isn't all that often as it's in the shop constantly. I'm still under warranty so no, (or very little), out of pocket expenses.... YET.
Just picked it up today after a week in the shop because the Turbo went out.... no cost to me. Had a air vent that stopped rotating (Air vents automatically rotate closed and open upon starting and stopping which looks cool as hell but serves to practical purpose whatsoever), that cost quite a bit.
So if you don't mind having a Jag in the shop once every couple of months for a week at a time... Jag is your car. Seriously... I test drove, (and I mean really putting them thru the paces in twisties) the Jag, a BMW, a Mercedes, and couple of others and the Jag wins easily. Not the most powerful by any means... but thru the curves it's surreal. - JamesJM
