RAMbeau has a big salad almost every day that includes grilled chicken. Juneau starts dancing around and hanging out in the kitchen while the chicken is cooking because she knows what's coming. Frank always holds out 3-4 small chunks of cooked chicken for her and it's the highlight of her day. She sits at his feet during dinner... patiently waiting. I had to tell him to back off a bit, though, 'cause of the weight thing. It's hard to do because she's a good dog (a bit crazy, but a darned good watch dog), and we like treating her. At the same time, I don't want to cause any health problems.

For the past 4 years, she's had many doggie toys but only ONE toy that she really liked to play with. It was a set of 3 rubber rings linked together and she LOVED playing tug of war with me every night. When I took her in for her checkup, the vet told me that the constant tugging had caused her bottom 4 front teeth to loosen and they had to be extracted so they didn't break off in her mouth and cause something more serious. You can't really tell that the teeth are gone because when she pants, her tongue covers up the area. The vet said that dogs don't really use those teeth much anyway and assured me she'd be fine without them. Even so, I felt bad because the toy caused damage even though it was from an activity that was fun to her. I threw the toy away. But poor baby, she's always looking for it.
