don't get it. You won't like it. Really, you will really, really, really, not like it.
So after 4 days and no relief I called my Doc early this morning and told him "Won't make next week's appointment, I'll be dead by then." He saw me this morning.
You know it's bad when the Doctor looks in your ear and says, "Oh #@#$". Then they gave me what I guess a super antibiotic, via a shot in the butt, then gave me some antibiotic pills... this to get the swelling down so that the antibiotic ear drops can go in my ear. Last night and very early this morning my wife noted that after lying perfectly still for over and hour each time the drops were not entering my ear at all.
Then there is the pain. Ouch. Make that all caps... OUCH. I have broken many bones in my life and not ONE hurt as bad as this. Imagine someone taking a wine corkscrew to your ear for 4 days without stopping.
So if there is no improvement by Sat. I have to go back in.
Again... my advice, don't get swimmer's ear. If you insist.. get the milder swimmer's ear... not the acute version like I have. You'll thank me later. - JamesJM
