DuckDuckGo search... a review...

I've been using DuckDuckGo for.... oh, I guess since January. Here's my review:

it works... by that I mean... targeted ads are almost gone. Far fewer ad email, (not sure why that's so, doesn't seem to me like it should be a factor).

It is NOT as good as google for results... but most likely a LOT better than you think. Just off the top of my head I'd say DuckDuckGo give me the search results I want 80% of the time. Shopping is probably the biggest drawback... google is much better.. or even Bing... but that doesn't give you any more privacy than Google.

Also... DuckDuckGo gets noticeably better by the week.. they are doing well.

I am WELL aware that many of you WANT targeted ads... I can understand that... but I don't... and maybe some of you don't either. - JamesJM
