that would be impossible to score from that area.....impossible.
The reason they give penalty shots is for fouls inside the box or egregious fouls. Your chance of scoring goes up exponentially inside that box area.
If that was taken away, people would be crushed every time they entered the box or there would be more severe fouls knowing repercussions are taken away.
