Is how in the hell they found them in the first place. At this time, with the little we know, finding them at all.... 2? 3? MILES inside this cave... seems to me to border on the miraculous.
I'm certainly no expert on caves... but unless the cave is one single path, like a manmade tunnel, and which I "think" would be rare for a cave?... then there had to be many dead end paths... like a maze.
