as far as I know were in effect when I was growing up and were repealed in the mid 80's.. From what I remember, various items, for religious reasons, were barred from being sold on Sundays, so most, if not all, stores were closed on Sundays in Texas.. I remember working at the record store in 1980 and we were always closed on Sundays.. then I remember the laws being repealed and we had to open on Sundays and we were all pissed.. and never sold anything - its like people still felt like they couldn't buy anything on Sundays..
Alcohol-wise we have had some weird laws here over the years.. I don't think you can buy alcohol in stores after 9pm on any day, you cannot buy hard liquor at all in bottles on Sunday, restaurants that serve alcohol onSunday hafta serve food, as well, I think.. Goofy stuff..
We also have a law on the books that you cannot have a pair of wire cutters in your back pocket - a law from the cattle driving days that was never repealed.. I guess guys driving cattle would cut property owner's barbed wire fences so they could drive their cattle through the property and not hafta go around.. so, they passed that bill.. lol..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
