Home from the party report....

It went ok. I didn't know many people. The guy who threw the party was the only one my age so we talked together most of the time. Before going I went by Walmart and bought a bottle of Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition..... scotch, to give to my host. About half way thru the evenings festivities we decided to open it and give it a try.

This is exactly what happened... we mixed it, with coke, (not diet)... took a sip.... looked at each other then took another quick sip... and almost simultaneously asked each other, "Is this as good as I think it is?".

You should know... I'm not a big hard liquor drinker... very rarely. So I'm no expert... but this stuff was FANTASTIC. Not the best I've ever had... the best I ever had was in Scotland... but this was DAMN CLOSE. And it came from Walmart.

My host's grandson, slightly older than my 2nd oldest grandson, have been playing sports together since they were 6. So we talked sports.. chances this next year in football, baseball, basketball.... what I'm getting at is: I guess it's possible for me to enjoy a party.... I'm not quite as curmudgeonly as I thought I was. And oh yeah.... we made fun of all the young guys.. their haircuts, their choice of music, how dumb they all are So who knows, maybe being a party animal is in my future. - JamesJM
