I think the most danger we faced was hypothermia cuz the water was FREEZING and I was in it 4 hours at a time.. There have been instances where a smaller shark has gotten in the cage.. I do have a short vid of one shark chewing the cage bar in the next cage.. the occupants were freaking out, but I was praying I'd get the chance to shoot that up close..
Actually, during the first clip, where the shark smacks the crap out of the cage, I sustained a right hand middle finger injury.. not from flipping him off, but from yanking the tendon while holding on to the bar when he hit the cage.. I thought the pain would go away, but almost a year later it hasn't..
I'll say one thing, more danger being ON the boat by the cages than IN the cages.. you're standing right there with no railing.. if you slip, you're going in the drink.. Even tho they say they don't chum the waters, they were chumming the waters.. I have video from the cage of them chumming.. so, you'd be in the chum- filled drink, surrounded by hungry Great Whites.. Not a death sentence by getting eaten alive as much as by simply having a heart attack..lol
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
