In the past 20 years, I think I've gone to the movies only twice so I'm not a good one to answer your question. I'll answer from a different angle.
I have all the movie channels on cable so I usually just wait for movies to appear there rather than go to the movie theater. I like being able to pause, go the bathroom, get a drink, etc and not have to deal with noisy/rude moviegoers. There's nothing like the comfort of my own home. Granted I don't have a gargantuan screen and surround sound but if it's a good movie, I don't need the bells and whistles. I suppose changing the channel during a movie would be the same as walking out of one and I've done that plenty. But I try to do a little homework about a movie before deciding to watch it (I use imdb.com a lot) so that I'm pretty sure the movie will be worth my time.
