Yes, HE is! It's so hard to lose a loved one, even when we know that it's inevitable. I think it's even harder to watch them suffer. My mom was 50 when she passed. I was 29. She went into the hospital for a hysterectomy and came through that just fine. But then over the next 4 months, her system began to unexplainably go haywire and shut down. Hers was not a peaceful end, but I take comfort in knowing that the end gave her eternal peace. I think of her almost every day and even though it's been 35 years, I still miss her. She used to always say that she wanted to live long enough to see all 4 of her kids grow up and that's what she did. I thank God for that.
I am glad that you have a peace even now. The love you had for each other and the memories will sustain you and that's a blessing.
