Man I remember Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, a tv show that came on Saturday night in NJ. I would stay up and watch, I saw Kiss on there and then one night, lights were low, this guitarist with a 10 Oclock shadow was ripping up his red and white stripped guitar to the tune of "ERUPTION"....HOLY CRAP THAT IS ALL IT TOOK....I was hooked.

Hotter than hell.. Holy crap I loved that LP and immediately went out and got their first LP Kiss.. Seems like it took forever for Dressed to Kill to come out.. At the time, I was the only guy in town who had ever heard of Kiss.. then Alive came out and was the game changer in Kisstory.. Then EVERYBODY knew who Kiss was.. I saw Kiss my first time on the Destroyer tour 1976 with Bob Seger and Artful Dodger in Ft Worth.. Amazing show.. But my roots run back to Hotter than Hell when they were raw, rude, and loud..
Game changers for me also include Van Halen I -- no guitarist out there who can't claim that one.. Strangers in the Night, cuz Schenker is the bomb and a few others.. I have my list of 5 CDs I'd take with me to be stranded on a desert island.. lol
