Like Mama said, I remember being a youngster and going to Sears Toy Dept and looking at stuff. Even at 8-9 years old, I loved looking at the model planes n ships. I can recall several that I stared at and THOUGHT my Parents were not around and a few weeks later, I'd see it for Christmas. Same went for G.I. Joe stuff or Tonka trucks. I did not get everything I wanted (Hardly) but I still LOVED to go put my hands on toys and dream. I'm gonna be 51 in June and it's still a special memory for me. These days, EVERYTHING is going on line. To me, it's as hollow as the "social skills" we have today....FB..Tweets etc. I'm always told I am TOO retro and need to get with the times. Maybe I will when I start respecting the times we live in.
