No one will think this was cool but me. But I went to a small private college in 1976-77 called York College, it's located in Nebraska about 50 miles west of Lincoln. The population of York is about seven to eight thousand, and the enrollment at the school was about 300. It's tiny.

I read in a school paper just a couple of months ago that a former student dated Buddy Holly in high school. Her interview said she broke up with him just about the time his career was starting to take off. She said they were going different directions, and she didn't want to be married to a rock star.

It also said that Buddy Holly had visited her at York College once or twice while they were dating. It kind of blows my mind to think that he was ever there. Probably ate in the same cafeteria where I saw my wife for the first time.
