No, I do not condone brawls.. yes, I believe these type of occurrences in sports send the absolute 'wrong message'....
And here comes the 'and yet'....
Canadian and USA Women going at it in front of the net.... they take this seriously. And I sit in my comfy chair with no chance of catching a hockey stick to the teeth and find I'm not all that repulsed by the spectacle... and, yes, I admit it, somewhat ....well, not pulling for them to duke it out... it's not that....but somewhat proud of their spirit... hmmm, actually not just 'somewhat' but very proud of their spirit.
I'm not putting this in the right words... not sure there are right words. But my guess is that after the games, after the medals, the Canadian women and the USA women will find a pub somewhere... get a few pitchers... laugh the brawl off, hug each other goodbye, and promise to return in 4 years with the same grit and determination. - JamesJM
