Thor was really hyped and so was Wonder Woman. I went into the theater with I guess unrealistic expectations. Plus I saw so many trailers for Thor that there were few surprises. I haven't looked at any of the BP trailers and I am hoping I forget everything about it by the time it comes to DVD (or VUDU)...
I loved the first Guardians. I really liked Deadpool and I liked Ant Man... All of these I no preconceived expectations. Even the first Avengers movie I didn't know much about but I am thinking it set the bar way too high. I was really looking forward to the 2nd Avengers but I thought it was bloated and slow with a lot of contrived dialogue. They are all entertaining though and I do enjoy all of them.
All of that said, the bloom is off the rose for me. I will still look forward to seeing the Marvel (and maybe a scarce DC) movies at my home but its probably the Avengers and Capt. America that would get me to the theater. Its a shame but there are just too many, for me the market is oversaturated. I did have some Black Panther comics growing up so I do want to see it but not enough...
I'm not even sure the theater is that special to me anymore. I saw the last Star Wars movie in December and it seemed to just drag on and on. lol... So it seems like the problem is me.
