A very personal story for the wife of an x NFL player

I could have posted this on the football board but felt most would see it as hostile to the game and thus generate a lot of attacks. Maybe it will here too. Nevertheless it has caused me to truly back off on my so called fandom. Maybe its simply aging. Who knows. We are all different with no good guys or bad guys on this topic. Personally, I just can't stand how violent the sport has become. Just curious if others have similar feelings. I know players know the risks of injury and go forward anyway. I'm sure they realize they only have -on an average-4 to 5 years of playing and for most it is the only way they will ever make any significant money to hopefully put away. -and of course the money comes from me by watching and buying products along with TV viewership etc.- But I wonder how many knew about the real dangers of CTE and how it would most likely affect them and their families the rest of their lives.
