Thanksgiving Day football makes me miss my Great Uncle. When I was young, we'd have our big family gathering at his and my Aunts house. ALWAYS slammed with people. Like my oldest Son today, I was VERY shy and did not like to mingle much. BUT....I would find a spot close to where I could watch the games and chat about football with my Uncle who was ALWAYS in his old chair (Archie Bunker like) By High School, I was more chatty with everyone but still pretty shy. I look back and miss those days 30-40 years ago. Soooooooooooo many that were at those gatherings have since passed away, including my Uncle and Aunt, who's house we had the gatherings. Even the house where they lived is in a HORRIBLE neighborhood now and it used to be SOOOO nice. Gatherings now? It's mostly Cousins who I have very little contact with. The gatherings are still nice but seem so empty also. I prefer simple Dinners with my Wife now. I hope you and Mama have a very nice Thanksgiving!
