tops mine by a long shot. On land you have full mobility... and, as I mentioned, you have a fighting chance against a mountain lion. They're usually around 100lbs, maybe 130lbs for a very large one. You have no chance against a great white, none.
I've written before about my fear of the ocean... I think that 'loss of mobility'... also some senses like hearing, seeing, drives my fear. It's being 'out of control'. It's not really a fear of what is in the ocean... although that certainly DOES play a part.
On my ranch I never feel 'fear' in the least... I have more 'fear' in my home... 50 miles from my ranch and no mountain lions, only some coyotes.
And I always have a low level of 'fear' when in any city... doesn't even have to be a big city. Simple reason... I'm out of my element in a city. (some loss of control). - JamesJM
