# 3: I blame both sides. The Dodgers knew or should have known that the cables would never absorb the cost to bail out Time Warner. Direct TV is right. There simply are not enough Dodger fans that will pay extra money to buy an entirely different package of programs that include the Dodger games. What they would have to pay TW they would not get back from Dodger fans and they are not in the business of losing money. Moreover, the Dodgers had, or have, the opportunity to renegotiate the entire deal since the money owed to the Dodgers is paid in deferred terms. But so far they have refused and used the money for stars. Finally, TW paid too much for the rights without a true understanding that from a tv standpoint baseball takes a backseat to football and basketball. There are no angels here.
