Or is the idea to branch out to each individual state? Just thinking out loud here... why 'properties'... what about, oh, say things invented in the specific states? Like Delaware... Teflon - Baby Wipes - Tang - Space Suits.
First: Thank you for helping me with this. I hope I am able to convey the appreciation for it.
I have considered branching out. Delaware is so small that it is easy to market. The reason I am putting it on Facebook first is because most people in the state know all of the towns, etc. and although it won't go viral it will spread. There is a unity to being in a small state. Less than 1 million residents. So I chose towns as properties because I am planning on doing polls to see which towns go where and I want to build excitement and perhaps competition.
I am marketing it personally, door to door. But I am also going to do a kickstarter campaign for it. Which will have to launch in about a week! Yikes! So the reason I chose Delaware is because I know people here and can spread the word quickly. As for the "things invented", that is a great idea. For the Delaware game I will include that info in the chance cards or on the board. One of the problems with choosing towns as properties is no town wants to be the cheap properties. And even if I made them the most expensive properties the stigma of being in the cheap properties spot is still very strong. So if I did products invented, that would most likely solve that problem moving forward.
