very, VERY few did I watch the initial broadcast.... almost all of them I saw in ReRuns...
But.. MASH, except for the first season, (I was in the Army out of the country)... I watched religiously. Cheers is another I watched the original runs, (for the most part). Also Barney Miller, TAXI....
My all time favorite, I don't have one... but "Everybody Loves Raymond" is at the top of my list... and I saw NONE of that series until it came out in syndication... I have now seen every episode.
I loved SOAP... and consider it one of the funniest sitcoms of all time. BUT... I have not seen it in a very long time... I often wonder how it will play today.
I have never seen Frasier, (sorry sst), but it's not because of any 'dislike'... I LOVED "Cheers" and I'm SURE I wold love Frasier, (same character, right?)... by the time Frasier debuted I had stopped watching TV.
I never saw a single episode, (I HAVE seen clips), of "Friends". I hear that it was very well written.
I have seen a little of "Seinfeld"... but, and I think this is interesting.... while it was funny, (no denying it), I found the characters so utterly disgusting that I could never get into it. And yes, I know, that was the whole point.
"All In The Family" was wonderful but for reasons I can't really explain I grew tired of it fairly quickly. I was never a big "Happy Days" fan although sure, I enjoyed many episodes.
I guess the point of this is that I haven't just become a grump old man, I was born one. - JamesJM
