I don't mind loudness, as a rule... but yes, it can get annoying. What I HATE, DESPISE and DETEST, (and yes, I mean that literally)... is how loud the special effects are and how soft the voices are. I'm sure for those with perfect hearing they don't notice but it is VERY rare that I can actually hear the voices well enough to make out what they say.
Same thing at home in my surround sound system. Special Effects rattle the windows and voices are almost inaudible - and this with my center speaker cranked up to 11 and the other speakers nearly shut off. - JamesJM
