Same in Oklahoma, if you are licensed you can carry any TYPE you are licensed for. If you take and pass your training with a revolver, you can only legally carry a revolver. If you pass with a semi-auto you can carry any type (they want to be sure you can operate a semi-auto, and will assume if you can do that you can manage a revolver). But it's not restricted to a specific weapon.
The guys who taught my class were pretty funny. Someone asked what score you had to get to pass, and they said no minimum score. You can miss every shot and still pass. You just have to prove that you can miss SAFELY. LOL!
Some states (Texas, and maybe Kansas? Or Colorado?) anyone can carry in their car, as long as they leave it in the car. I believe in Texas you can even carry concealed to and from your car without a license.
