Yeah, my grandsons love super hero movies. I think that's great... and in truth watching those movies with them is fantastic. The problem, (for me anyway), is that given a choice that is just about ALL they will watch.
Not often, occasionally, I will insist on a different genre - and almost without fail they'll love it. Did that with "Hachi - A Dog's Tale", just yesterday? Maybe the day before. sstrams and I were posting about it. My grandson's loved it, haven't stopped talking about it.
I know you're a big Lonesome Dove fan - that was one of the best 'movie watching' experiences of my life when one evening, with a lot of time on our hands, I got my oldest grandson to watch it with me from beginning to end, one sitting. It's now his favorite all time movie, (as it is mine, or at least tied for my favorite). - JamesJM
