Great news

I've had two friends who had suffered Brain Damage , one , sounds as severe as yours , ( ATV accident , without a helmet )

Spent many weeks in the hospital , and many weeks to follow , with physical therapy , so I know what a challenge it's been ,

it's been several years now since my friends accident , and he's been back to work several years now as well , but it took him a good two years to recover , and like you , still doesn't remember the accident , or the following weeks in the hospital

only what we tell him , like the night he got out of bed and set off the fire alarm to the entire hospital , because he wanted a cigarette .................lol

But afterwards , it did change his personality , people who didn't know him before the accident , wouldn't be able to tell , , but for those of us who knew him from before , can really tell the difference , lets just say he's much mellower now

That first year he had his ups and downs , but over time , the downs get few and things get easier ,
