My family is at Disneyland, on Memorial Weekend...

I know what you're going to say.
I've been in contact with them all day... text and video chat. There is almost no one there... they can walk up to nearly any ride and get on immediately.
No, I have no explanation for this.
They report: The new "Soarin" is great... it's not 'over California' anymore... it's the world. The new "Guardians of the Galaxy", which replaced Tower Of Terror, opens tomorrow. Don't expect me to give it good reviews even if my family does... taking out the "Twilight Zone Haunted Hotel" theme was WRONG.
Not sure when the new Star Wars section of Disneyland opens... I'm 'iffy' about that... sure, I think it will be great BUT... it's not "Disney". - JamesJM
