Like you, I have no idea how people can just abandon a dog to the country like that.. Those people should be beaten to death, imo..
Yesterday we had an incident here in town.. a dog was found starving on the street, walking on bones in one paw - all the flesh was gone and he was covered in dog fighting scars, so probably lost the flesh on his paw to a dog fighting incident.. He didn't make it, but at least was shown love and attention for a few hours before he passed.. It just makes me so mad to see something like that..
..and we try to walk the walk.. we just spent 8 hours Saturday volunteering for PETS Low Cost Spay Neuter - a local organization that gives free spay/neuters, free vaccinations, free collars and tags etc to low income families in town.. but no matter how much people volunteer, there's always morons out there that abuse, beat, starve, and abandon their pets.. its absolute betrayal of their pets, imo...
