In a storm earlier this year I'm actually watching more TV than I have since... geez, I'm going to say the 80's.
For the last decade I was probably the LEAST TV watching person in the USA... with the exception of football games.
Since my dish was knocked out of commission I got HULU... I already had Netflix but rarely used it, (my family did)... For about a month now I've been watch several old TV shows. Cheers, Taxi, Wings... etc. I WAS watching Columbo avidly but they removed it. @#$#@$##'s.
And not just that... I started watching movies again. Most that I had already seen, although not in some time, BUT many I had never seen as well. Man have I seen some bad movies. Actually - I'd say 50% of the movies I begin, never having seen them, I never finish watching... but of course, as you probably know... Hulu, Netflix, oh yeah I forgot - Amazon Prime... really don't have a good selection of movies.
iTunes is good, but expensive. Also... you need lightening fast broadband to watch an iTunes movie. My broadband will stream in SD but HD causes problems.. I usually have to wait a long time for them to buffer before I can start watching them.
I haven't had any of the DirecTV premium movie channels in years.... to much repetition for me. Also.. I have found darned few of the original network movies they're all going to to be very good at all.
I decided to not renew DirecTV... I like it, but it's expensive and I seldom watch it. Instead.. I'm going back to the old days.. and antenna... I can get about 50 channels over the air and it's free. I'll keep Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime for now. - JamesJM
