I don't know how you guys, (those who have a stubble beard, which is probably all of you, it's in 'vogue') can stand it. MISERABLE. Itchy, rough, and it's like velcro.
I'm currently donning a beard and it's not 'long' but definitely beyond the 'stubble', (itchy), stage. I went long last time I had a beard, (3 years ago I think), but a photo of me coming down the last slide on Disneyland's Splash Mountain and my family had a family meeting in which they passed a law that I can never have a long beard again.
Always wanted to have a Longstreet beard, (Civil War General)... like a foot long, maybe two. Can't do it... for some reason my beard stops growing at about 2-3 inches.
My intention is to keep this beard forever. won't happen... one morning my brain will switch off and I'll get up and shave it off for NO GOOD REASON WHATSOEVER. By the way, here's my wife when I grow a beard -
"Why are you growing a beard? don't grow a beard, it looks stupid, and ugly".
So I grow the beard, have a brain fart and shave it off, and here's my wife:
"Why did you shave it off, you look stupid, and ugly". - JamesJM
