I used to buy Seagate, but switched to Western Digital about 10 years ago after having several Seagates go @#$%& up prematurely. I haven't had one WD fail on me yet. I'd be sad to hear about Western Digitals declining quality if I still used spinning disk drives.
But now I only use solid state drives, all Samsungs IIRC. Although I do have a home theater PC with a 256GB main drive for the operating system and programs and 2TB spinning disk drive (like the cavemen had) for movies and recorded TV shows.
