Well, Thursday I am.
Didn't think I was going to make it. Two weeks ago I got sick.... normally I'm a quick healer, not this time. Had a fever for a week... THEN... I guess related, (not sure), finished the fever off with a sinus infection that's lingering as I type this thread.
So I've been monitoring the weather. It's terrifying. Highs in the upper 40's with thunderstorms and wind. And PEOPLE LIVE THERE!!!!!!!
I can perhaps understand NOAA having a research facility there.... like a half dozen or so scientists doing 6 month long shifts... but permanent residence? I have no doubts whatsoever that when we decide to colonize Mars they won't ask for volunteers they'll draft Iowans, or is it Iowists?
