As I write this my fever is 101.1. It's horrible. BUT... I can type, I can go the bathroom. I can function... just at a much slower pace. OH, and I complain a lot.
Two hours ago, however, I fell asleep and slept through the time for my aspirins... woke up and my fever was 102.8.
When I was a kid I didn't even know I was sick unless my temp topped 103.5 or so.
Through my 20's, 30's, 40', I went to work with a 102.8 temperature. Didn't like it, felt miserable, but kept working.
I'm 68 now. And two hours ago when it hit 102.8 I was, for all intents and purposes, an invalid. I could moan. That's it. I could moan. I didn't know it was possible to get so ill. The aspirins worked well.... when it dropped below 102 I did what we all do... started desiring ice cream. I don't have any.
Tech to the rescue.... I started a 'timer' on my phone, my iPad, my laptop... all set to count down 3 hours. (I cheat and never wait the recommended 4 hours). No way in hell am I missing my next aspirins. I never used to take aspirins... wellllll, as a Kid I did, my Mom made me. Today... get between me and my aspirins when my timer alarm goes off and I'm taking you out. I won't even warn you.
