I love the 1980s stuff, but mostly New Wave. The kind of music you'd see in John Hughes' movies. . Not sure if you were ever into that, or if you wanted to smash their records with your guitar. But I still enjoy a great deal of it, especially what they used to call the Second British Invasion. When MTV was just starting up, and actually played videos, it was all the rage . . . Motels, Missing Persons, U2, INXS, the Clash, the Smiths, the Human League, New Order, Kate Bush -- that sort of thing. May not fit that well under the conditions of this thread, except for bands like the Clash, U2, the Alarm, INXS . . .

My musical tastes are pretty eclectic, but I do have my limits. Certain kinds of party situations just demand certain kinds of music. At least they did when I was young. Overall, back in the day, that typically meant serious rock from the 1960s and 70s, with some Sun Records (mid-1950s) Elvis thrown in for good measure.
