I keep thinking that their story would make a great biopic. Wonder if anyone has ever thought about doing a screenplay.

The Kinks ... so underrated!

One of the things I loved most about them - and this sounds very odd on re-reading - was the underlying cynicism in Ray's songwriting. There's a remarkable level of subversion. This is just me ... but I always felt, just under the surface of so many Kink's songs, he had this simmering disgust for the cruelty, self-righteousness and perversion of mankind. There were so many extraordinarily complex levels to his writing.

UK ... you say that the Kinks are the quintessential British band. Where do you stand on The Who?
