but probably for the worse, if anything.. Insurance companies are the devil.. I can't see them suddenly becoming the good guys... I have collector car insurance for my TR7 through Hagerty and they are the ONLY company that ever treated me squarely.. I had a cracked windshield from a rock somebody kicked up.. I called them - they didn't even make me shoot photos or get an estimate.. They looked up the cost to replace the windshield, which was like $750....

Now get this... I had gotten an estimate and the estimate was for $500... I'm on the phone with Hagerty and I tell the guy, "I don't want to make a profit - just cut me a check for the amount of my estimate.. The guy was SHOCKED.. and finally agreed, after asking me twice if I was sure... I said "yeah - if more people did that maybe insurance prices would come down"... So, they cut me a check for the $500....

But wait.. This is still an insurance company and insurance companies ARE THE DEVIL... They cut me a check for $450 - they deducted a $50 "copay" which I was unaware of and that he didn't tell me about.. so, instead of profiting $200 on the deal, I ended up having to pay $50 out of my pocket when I thought I would just break even and get my windshield replaced - all because I was trying to be cool.. So, NEVER AGAIN...
