That's my problem. I wear prescription bifocals and my eyes continue to get worse. Now I'm informed that continuing to get stronger prescriptions are not an option anymore. I have to have cataract surgery in the very near future. Apparently there are three types. The first one simply eliminates the cataracts and you still need to wear glasses. That's covered by my insurance for the most part. The next replaces a part of the lens and it corrects some of the vision so that you still need some glasses but not like what you had before. The 3rd is where they replace the entire lens in both eyes and you never have to wear glasses again (supposedly). That surgery is NOT covered by insurance and runs roughly $3500 for each eye. That's what my wife thinks I should do and never have to worry about glasses getting lost etc again. All my dive masks are prescription as are my ski goggles and I'm told I look sexy in glasses.
Another issue is that because of pressure releases in my eyes I may have glaucoma which needs to be addressed before any cataract surgery. Will be seeing the Doc in a couple of weeks to see if that is the case.
