Shook his hand, however. Kurt didn't come to either practice, and he was only in attendance for the first half of the game. When he entered the coliseum he came from behind me so I didn't see him coming, I was in the aisle seat. There was an aisle in front of me as well... when he made the turn I spotted him, held out my hand and shook his.
Kurt's son and my grandson Mason were in the same 'group'.... so on two of Mason's catches Kurt came over to him after the catches, (and Mason came to the sideline), and shook his hand saying, "Nice Catch".
Kade, Kurt's son, and Mason were on the same side, Mason in the slot... they spoke the entire game, planning strategy. Mason says he really liked Kade, quality Kid. This is only one of his 4 catches, (One was called back on a holding call BUT since this was an All American game, for recruiting purposes, it counts). All 4 of his receptions were for first downs.
Live I couldn't tell it was 'one handed'... his Dad was down a few seats from me, better view, and saw it right away. This video is the first time I could confirm it was one handed, even though it was a great catch regardless.
He made an impression and all the coaches spoke to us after the game and said they're going to work for Mason to help with recruitment... where that will go? I don't know. Frankly I see no way at least a JC won't contact him because most of the kids in this game are committed.. Miami, Ohio, Washington, Boise (Mason's QB is going to Boise). Long list of Div 1 teams... so Mason did it among top notch athletes.
#8, (His High School Number), Mason Layton That's Kade Warner who comes over to Mason after the catch and congratulates him. Kade #82.
