I enjoy standing in line. My wife does her banking on line and believes I'm foolish for standing in line at the bank. I just enjoy watching people thinking about where their lives have taken them, what tragedies and successes may have entered their lives, etc. She also does her shopping on line. I love going to the stores and just walking around watching the interactions of people. I also enjoy sitting outside at night alone with my dog just staring at the sky. I can drive from Sacramento to So Cal just thinking of my life, etc. My wife has to be engaged so she is on the I PAD or her I Phone looking up stuff and reading to me when I'm happy in my thoughts. I'm simply in no rush to do "stuff". Drives my wife crazy. Then again I'm an only child so maybe that's the reason.
I once did an interesting study after several months waiting in line at the grocery store. Have you ever noticed that if you are in line and there is one person behind you and no one behind them the one person behind you sometimes is like right up against you and seemingly breathing down your neck. You want to say back off and give me some space. Well I had this opinion so I started asking these sorts where they came from. Most all of those who were "up close and personal" (behind you) were from New York. So my theory is that because of the crowds and subway conditions, etc., it's simply a way of life. It's almost like an aggressive approach to forced you and the cashier to hurry through the transaction so they don't somehow lose their turn. I used to ride a train here to get to Anaheim stadium where my car was parked. Same thing -except worse. Arms and elbows in your face, rushing for a seat-mostly New Yorkers. Whenever that happens in your life try asking the question and see if their responses are similar. If so I'm going to publish my little study.
