I missed my reunion this year....

darn shame too, we hadn't had one in a very long time. We had a 10 year and 20 reunion... I attended both, then nada since. Well, there have been a few small gatherings but nothing 'formal' or well attended... until this year.

I was at a football game - that's why I missed. That may seem a poor reason but it was my grandsons' games.

At this point I have to admit that I'm pretty sure I'd be embarrassed to attend a reunion. I do not remember high school very well, few of the people. It's odd... because I can remember grade school GREAT, as well as college... but High School not so much. So when I run into an old school mate, (one I do remember), it always seems they start mentioning names from those days and I'm lost. They seem to know what they did after high school, who they married, re-married in some cases, how many kids and grandkids they have, what they did for a living... and all the time they're running that down to me I'm scratching my head thinking, "John Doe, John Doe, John Doe... sounds a little familiar".

I don't like meeting up with someone I 'should' know and that knows me at first sight and then going through that awkward moment of not having a clue who they are. Even name tags don't always help me.
