When you inked Vai and Satriani as being the top dogs, I instantly thought they both played with Frank Zappa at one time or another. Turned out after looking it up that only Steve Via did (I knew he did....at least). Reading their influential guitarists they were almost identical; "Jimmy Page, Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, and Allan Holdsworth". Throughout musical time, those have been considered some of the best ever in the music industry.
This talk got me looking at youtube at some of these guys and this link below is a Brian May "instructional video". For a musical dolt like myself it was captivating to see how a guitar is played. About 9 minutes in he talks about splitting and phasing the cords to three different amps...again for me it was awesome to listen to. I don't mean to insult your musical knowledge and ability.
