First thing Saturday morning he went to visit Humboldt U with one of his teammates, Nick, where this photo was taken. Mason is on the left. Humboldt is considering them both.

We're not too keen on the idea, meaning his parents and us grandparents. They don't offer a degree in the field that is his first choice, and love. As I've said before, Mason isn't going to play 'big time' football.. but he loves the game. We think that if he insists on playing then red-shirt and get in a college where he can do what he most wants to do 'education-wise'. He 'gets' that, but he's a kid, basically, and the glory of the game fills his head.

As for watching him closely, no worries there. The coach he went to Humboldt with is also the asst. Trainer... an ex-paramedic.
