I don't know, but...

one os update ago, or maybe it was two, Apple 'bricked' my laptop speakers. They distort now so badly you can't listen to them. Common problem, lot of complaints, nothing can be done... or at least I never found a solution.

Luckily I don't really 'listen' to my laptop.. I have a bluetooth speaker nearby if I want to listen to music, also headphones. In my case I only use my laptop when I'm in bed and my wife HATES the music I listen to so I was already on the bluetooth speaker or headphones before I got bricked.

Now don't hold me to this BUT... my guess is this would be an easy DIY fix. And cheap. If they are really 'blown' then what have you got to lose? spin tounge smiley Google it and my guess is you'll find the parts and a youtube explaining exactly how to do it. - JamesJM
