I think Friedman is just as responsible, if not more, than Roberts for winning the Division. He's loaded this team with players who can step in at any time and play any position needed. In a word the Dodgers have "depth". Kershaw goes down and what do we do? We go on to win the division precisely because of our depth. Every GM makes mistakes like Anderson, McCarthy, Kazmir but he's also made some awfully good moves to provide Roberts with the talent to win the division.
I'm not sure of a run to the World Series because I think it's a pitcher's game from here on out. I doubt the Dodgers have the starters to compete against the others-and that should do it.
I expect next year we will be loaded with starting pitches. And we do have Urias and DeLeon. I don't think there will be any more moves to get pitchers who were once good but are recovering from surgeries.
Once again the interesting issue will be Puig. When he plays up to his capabilities he -I'm not kidding here-could be the greatest player ever. The only thing preventing him is his brain. Unless he can really stay away from the low and outside pitch he will never be the player he is capable of.
