I also do not believe in 'mind reading'.... in the 'magical' sense, that is. I can forget my wife's birthday, however, and tell you exactly what she's thinking and what she's about to say.

But that said... I didn't see anything in the clip that, IMHO, can't be explained by simple sleight of hand and trickery. Most of it I have an explanation for - the only bit that has me stumped, (not saying I know exactly the procedures for each bit but in general I'm pretty sure I know how it was 'arranged'), was for the lady to say the name was her Grandmother.

AND GUESS WHAT... I don't watch those shows, as a rule, but as fate may have it I DID see exactly ONE act just recently (not sure which talent show it was)... my wife wouldn't let me turn the channel before the magic act was concluded so I missed the beginning of The Twilight Zone Season 1 Episode 3 - - a guy went up on a lift then supposedly 'disappeared'... (a gimmick to fool the audience), then magically 'flew' across the stage, (invisibly), over the audience and seemingly instantly reappeared in a balcony in the theater... some distance from the stage.

The judges were stunned, as was the audience, and I thought, "That was the easiest thing to figure out I've ever seen". No Way smiley JamesJM

Weird thing, I know, especially after all of the above: I tune in mostly for the singers. And this year's AGT has several really good singers, most of them be astonishingly young. Not sure why it happened, but they almost all turned out to be teens. That, to me -- the future! -- is "magical." One of my favorites, a young lady named Calysta Bevier, is adorable, with a heart-breaking story. Cancer at an all too young age, and she's quite the fighter.

Also really liked Jayna Brown, who sings like an angel and is only 14. If she doesn't have a great future as a chanteuse, someone really messed things up for her. And then there's another singer who actually did make the finals, little Grace Vaderwaal, as cute as a button and with a truly unique singing style. I think she's all of 12 or 13, writes her own songs, and melts your heart with goodness and probably causes cavities worldwide with her sweetness.

Now, as far as mad skilz are concerned, you need to watch Sofie Dossi perform, James. She's a very young contortionist, who shoots the bow and arrow with her feet, while balancing on these tall stick-like things. Again, that's "magical" for me.
