..and I'm not a gamer, so this is all speculation: With video games, all the sounds ares, of course pre-recorded and programmed, so with settings you can literally shut off any type of sound programmed into the game.. Color commentary is probably grouped and can be shut off, for example.. I'm guessing with a live game you'd have to have several sets of announcers that you could choose between - from bare bones guys to color commentators who jabber on like a busted chainsaw and won't shut up..
I guess I'm lucky in that I'm able to mentally tune most of the crap out.. I will, on occasion tho, correct an announcer who hasn't done his homework or misspeaks.. I will usually end those corrections with an insulting and profanity laced name that I call whoever originally said it.. So, 1 point for the TV viewers...
Maybe someday they'll have those options for ya, 23.. until then, all we got is a volume knob.. Maybe tune down the TV and turn a radio feed on to supply the volume?
